Nepal Visa procedure

All visitors except the Indian nationals must hold passport and a valid visa. Visa can be obtained at the Nepalese Diplomatic mission and consulates abroad. Visa is also issued at the entry points. If ones visa expires, it can be extended at the department of Immigration, Bhirktuimandap, Kathmandu (Telephone Number 223590)

Children under 10 years age need not pay any visa fee. Two passport size photos are essential.

Following are the Entry Points, where visa will be issued.
Entry Points.

By Air:

  • Tribhuvan International Airport.

By Land:

  • Kakerbhitta
  • Birgunj
    Belhiya (Bhairahawa)
  • Nepalgunj
  • Dhangadi
  • Jogbani (Biratnagar)
  • Mahendra Nagar at Nepal India border.
  • Kodari at Nepal China border.

There are only two types of visa.

  • Single Entry Visa USD 30/-
  • Multiple Visa USD 50/- With 5 months limit.

Business Visa:
Business visa ( with multiple entry) can be obtained from the Department of Immigration for the period of one year or five years upon the recommendation of the ministry of Industries by Paying the following amount.

  1. One year Multiple visa USD 100/-
  2. Five years Multiple Visa USD 250/-)

Tibet Visa Regulation.

You are welcome to Tibet with a passport valid for at least 6 months after your departure date. As for visa for Tibet, it should be secured through the authorities in Lhasa, well in advance. Group visitors (more than 5 people) should apply for visa in the Chinese embassy. Usually 10 days is required to process your visa by the chinese embassy, therefore all the necessary documents is needed before 2 weeks of departure to Tibet, so that we can procure the visa in time without any delay. Visa can be issued in 1 to 3 days on payment of additional US $43 rush fee. Travelling in Tibet requests tour permission and for visitors to the restricted areas, special permits are requested.

Once the necessary detail is with us, then one need not worry about the visa as we will be fully responsible for it. The following details are required:

The Regulation of Tibet Autonomous Region on Administration
of foreigners Mountaineering in Tibet.


Chapetr 1 : The General Rules.

Article 1 : The regulation are here by formulated in order to develop mountaineering undertaking of Tibet Autonomous region and strengthen the administration on mountaineering activities in the Tibet Autonomous Region.

Article 2 : The regulation are suited to foreigners who apply to all kinds of mountaineering, exploration, alpine skiing, alpine gliding, cliff climbing, etc (here in after called : mountaineering activities) at mountains and peaks over 5500 meters above sea level and mountaineering attached scientific observation or surveying and drawing activities in the mountain areas of Tibet Region.

Article 3 : All mountains and peaks in the Tibet Autonomous region belongs to the People's Republic of China, the people's government of Tibet Autonomous Region submit application to the State council.
