Besides operating treks on regular and well trodden trekking trails, Cho-Oyu also gives you a taste of wildness country, destinations in the Nepal Himalaya that are rarely frequented. Most of these treks are demanding and strenuous, and require one to be in excellent physical and mental shape. They require one to possess plenty of stamina and grit and some may even require basic mountaineering skills as you will be encountering high and rugged country made of barren, desolate lands; moraines; glaciers; glaciated passes over 5,000 m in altitude and icefalls.
The challenges, however, are more than compensated by idyllic landscape and Nepalese rural lifestyles at lower elevations to gorgeous mountain vistas as the trails gradually traverse upward to higher elevations. So much so, once you have completed one of these treks, you will feel a kind of euphoria not unlike having your long cherished dream finally come true. And no matter how much pre-reading you might have done about any one of these trips, they are guaranteed to transcend your expectations!
