taverns serving local apple raksi. The
trek follows an old trade route east;
crossing several passes (3,840m/12,600
ft) before reaching the fortress town
of Dolpa. From here, the trail turns
northward; approaching Lake Phoksundo
(3,650m/ 12,000 ft), the sparkling turquoise
lake set below Shey Gompa, the setting
of the book "The Snow Leopard".
Once lakeshore, you can day hike to
a near by ridge top for views of the
western Himalayas. Eventually arriving
in the Dunai where you will grab a flight
to Kathmandu. A unique Himalayan adventure
that opens new discoveries each step.
