An ultimate challenge to the ambitious trekker, this moderate to challenging trek takes us to the foot of Mt. Everest traversing across the high Cho La pass at an elevation of 5,470 m. We will also get the opportunity to trek to the summits of both Gokyo Ri (5,340 m) and Kala Pattar (5,554 m) where you will be rewarded with magnificent views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Cho Oyu and a host of other peaks. A visit to Everest Base Camp will give you the chance to view the spectacular Khumbu Icefall from up close. The Base Camp is where trekking ends and full scale expeditions to Mt. Everest begins. Even though beginners or inexperienced climbers can take this trek as no technical climbing as such is involved, one needs to be quite physically fit. Considering that Cho La Pass is snow bound, the trek may not be advisable during winter (January and February) as well as the monsoon (rainy) season (mid-June through August).
