Darjeeling, a small hill station of west Bengal, stands proudly atop a hill overlooking the vast north Indian plains. Developed by British colonists as a hill station, this town is still guarding its legacy as a charming destination, particularly during the summer when the heat is unbearable in the lowlands of India. The journey to Darjeeling begins from Siliguri through a narrow road that runs parallel to the historic narrow gauge railway and meanders up a steep incline, making the trip a thrilling experience in itself.

The population of Darjeeling is a mixture of many ethnic groups believed to have originated from the border areas of Assam and Burma; the Bhutias, who migrated from eastern Tibet; and the Nepalese who migrated from Nepal’s eastern hills.

Darjeeling offers spectacular views of Mt. Kanchenjunga and other snowbound peaks, especially from a place called Tiger Hill. Its mountaineering museum, Victorian era houses, Himalayan zoological park and snow leopard and panda breeding centers, a botanical garden and numerous monasteries offer a fascinating fare for the visitor. Breathtaking views of vast stretches of tea gardens that produce some of the best teas in the world, is another attraction of this small hilltop town.

We offer unique trips to Sikkim and Darjeeling. Depending upon the time available with you, we offer you customized tours and treks, ranging from three days to 20 days, in these serene and magical places.
