Trekking
permit regulation
It is our great pleasure to inform you
regarding newly opened trekking areas/routes
and royalty announced by Ministry of Home
Affairs, His Majesty Government of Nepal,
through the Immigration Rule 2059. The
following items as information are published
in section 52 Number 10 of Nepal Gazette
(Rajpatra) part 3 Dated 2059/3/3, June
17, 2002.
Following decisions have come up with
regard to the opening up new areas and
their respective permit rules: effective
from 2059/3/3 corresponding to June 17,
2002.

To
visit Tibet through Simikot, Yari, Limi,
Muchu, Tange Khola regions of Darma
Village Development committee of Humla
District, one has to pay US $ 90 or
equivalent convertible currency per
person per week.

Olangchunggola,
Lelep, Papung and Yamphudin village
development committee Regions of Taplejung
District and Kimathanka, Chepuwa, Hatiya,
Pawakhola Village Development Committee
Regions of Sangkhuwasabha District and
north west regions of Nagpala and Thame
of Namche Village Development Committee
of Solukhumbu District US $ 10 or equivalent
convertible currency for first four
weeks per person per week and then after
US $ 20 or equivalent convertible currency
per person per week.

and Timure of Rasuwa Districut Region
: US $ 10 or equivalent convertible
currency per person per week.

Narphu
and Thoche Village Development committee

Filiming
Policy Revised:
The system of levying of Royalty
on shooting of films by foreigners by the
Ministry of Information and communication
Department of National Park and wild life
conservation, Department of Archelogy and
so on has been fully revoked . Now, a single
permit will be issued by the Ministry of
information and communication for filming.
Moreover, there has been a drastic reduction
in the shooting fee for Upper Mustang and
Upper Dolpa. The fee has been reduced from
$ 40,000/- to $ 5000/-.

Parks and Wildlife reserves.
National Parks and Wildlife
reserves are certain Particular areas within
the country which are rich in flora and
fauna and are set aside by the government
for their protection from human encroachment
or eventual extinction. Some of such Major
parks and reserves in our country are: Royal
Chitwan National Park (932sq. kms) Sagarmatha
National Park (1148 sq. km) Langtang National
Park (1710sq. kms) Royal Bardia National
Park (968 sq. Km,) Shey - Phoksundo National
Park, (3555 sq. kms), Rara National Park
(106 sq. kms) Makalu Baruntse and conservation
Area (2330 sq. Kms) Royal Shuklapantha Wildlife
Reserve (305sq kms) and Koshi Tappu Wildlife
Reserve (175sq kms).
